Ceylon White Pepper

Looking for Fresh White Pepper? Discover How to Use It!

SYDE Ceylon offers fresh white pepper, made from the seeds of the pepper plant, which originate from black pepper.

The process of making white pepper begins with retting—removing the black skin of the pepper berries. The ripe berries are soaked in water for a week to soften the flesh and break down the outer cover. After rubbing the berries, the outer layer is removed, leaving behind the seed, which is then dried to produce white pepper.

White pepper is widely used in Asian cuisines, particularly in Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. It’s commonly added to hot and sour soups, shrimp preparations, and other flavorful dishes. Additionally, it’s a key ingredient in many European recipes.

Add a touch of SYDE's premium white pepper to your kitchen for an authentic taste of Sri Lanka in every dish.
